At the end of the course participants will understand what emotional intelligence is and why it is important in the workplace. They will have awareness of the tools and competencies of Emotional Intelligence and have identified perspectives and competencies that they can apply in their own work situation. Participants will have a working knowledge of psychological safety, the value and importance of it and some techniques and practices to increase it within their team.

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional Intelligence is about emotional regulation. It is the ability to be aware of our own emotional states, to see those as something outside of ourselves and to bring mindful awareness to them, to manage our internal state, and our behaviours. It is also to understand what might be happening for others and the effect that our behaviours and interactions have on them.

Take at least one specific action to improve Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety within the participants own team and write a reflection for manager review / or add a short agenda item to management team meetings to discuss Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety initiatives introduced and outcomes.
Optional Extra – Post Session Group Coaching
Guide participants through identifying current state vs desired state and to determine the key changes they will implement within their teams to increase Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety.
Alternate between explaining the process step by step in plenary and working in pairs to implement the steps.
Participants will exit the session with:

A gameplan for improving Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety within their own teams.

Guide the participant through identifying current state vs desired state and to determine the key changes they will implement within their teams to increase Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Safety.
Explain the process step by step and coach the participant to implement the steps and craft their story and plan the delivery.
The participant will exit the session with:

All elements of the programme can be tailored to meet the needs of your organisation.
The Platform is negotiable however Zoom or Google Meet are the preferred platforms due to the ease of creating and managing breakout rooms, using collaborative tools such as whiteboards and both personalised and group chat.
